Welcome to the new Warcraft Sues, Same as the old Warcraft sues.
We've all seen them, the Mary Sues of Warcraft.

You're looking for fanfic through some archive like the Pit of Shrews. What you find is some monstrosity featuring the Daughter of Jaina and Malfurion who is the greatest mage ever, has redeemed Arthas and is able to single-handedly destroy the entire legion herself.

There you are, walking through Stormwind or Orgrimmar, checking out the FlagRSPs of passing people. Next thing you know, you're confronted by a wall of text describing someone’s extravagant beauty, their three distinct scars and the gigantic wings sprouting from their back.

You've seen them all - the incredibly self-promoting, the lore-crushing, the mind-blowingly pretentious and their ilk. And now you have a place to discuss them.

Warcraftsues is a place for Warcraft and World of Warcraft fans to find and post terrible fanfics and character biographies, then subject them to mocking review and laughter. Think of it as a form of Fandom Vent - You have a chance to let off steam at the things that the fanboys (and fangirls) do in a friendly, mocking manner.

This is not about flaming or attacking those writers, but more of, shall we say, discussing what they do. Nor is it for attacking players on the basis of their race/class/allegiance choices. (Our founder plays a Night Elf Hunter with a Cat. He's used to being treated as the scum of the earth The chief mod has a collection of Blood Elf Paladins and DKs) It's not the character that matters, after all. It's what you do with it.

For in-game characters, please do not flame or attack the players in-game; if its really an issue and you can't stand them, then by all means, whisper them and maybe discretely explain what's the problem with their character and/or background. Do not use it as an excuse to flame, harras or abuse other players. Remember, in the end, its the character we go after, not the person behind them. We all just want to play nice here.

Be warned! Content may be very, very painful and cause brain-melting, screaming, doom and Stuff. It may contain slash, OOC-ness, lore-crushing, bad romance, improbable parings and the like.

Please do not post entire fics or character biographies - links are fine. For FlagRSP descriptions, a screenshot of the description in question will suffice.

For posting Fanfic sues (As opposed to FlagRSP or RP character bio ones), you can also use the following, sue-sporking standardised template.

Rather then a massive spiel, I will refer you to this post. This is the best summary of WCS and what it does that I have ever seen, and it's not even by a mod. Read it. Now.

Q. Isn't this kinda like pottersues and other such communities?
A. Yes, it is, which is kind of the point.

Q. Who can post a Sue here?
A. Any member of the community.

Q. What am I allowed to submit here?
A. Fanfic, Character Biographies, FlagRSP descriptions, Wiki pages and the like. As long as its directly connected to Warcraft and its sequels/spinoffs.

Q. Do I have to post the chracter's name and server with a FlagRSP description?
A. That's optional; you can delete/blank them if you want. Of course, if their name is particularly sue-ish, then by all means feel free.

Q. Can I post my own fanfic/character bio/RSP/whatever here?
A. Yes, but be prepared for the chance that it may be mocked.

Q. Do I have to post my name, character name and/or server
A. Not at all; one of the advantages here is anonymity.

Q. What’s a “Cutefase" or a "White on white"?
A. These and other things can be found in the Glossary. Be warned, it will make you cry. Also be warned that the Glossary is hopelessly out of date and that the Mods will get round to updating it. One day.

Q. Your FAQ is full of typoes
A. I'm aware of this. The com founder types like a moron. the Lead mod is worse

Q. Can I post "adult" things?
A. Use a Cut. The simple form of this is (lj-cut) using the greater than and less than brackets. Also make certain to use a NSFW tag. Please don't clutter the com with direct porn. Hotlinks to porn and explicit quotes will be delorted by wiki cybermen.

Q. Is it appropriate to discuss things we think are the indicator of a sue in general terms?
A. Maybe. If you introduce a controversial comment that seems to be designed as flame bait, you may well be ban hammered. If you rise to flame bait, you may also be ban hammered. In case of flame bait, please contact your friendly neighborhood mods, who will defuse the situation... with a ban hammer.



ATTENTION NEW MEMBERS AND APPLICANTS!
We have recently had an upsurge in what appear to be troll, and not in the good way or even cutefase way, applications.

Your mods are currently rejecting all apps from people with NO profile, NO posts and NO interests. Even something as simple as giving yourself a user icon will ensure a yes to your membership request.

If you have anyone of these sorted out, you are safe.

If you have created an LJ just for the purposes of participating in the community, and have no other interest in LJ, please take the time to place "world of warcraft", "WOW" or something similar in your interests section of your profile. This takes about 15 seconds, or possibly a little longer if you are typing with a stylus in your mouth due to an unfortunate spinal injury, and saves you the heartbreak of being similarly rejected.

If this is too much, Message rantinan AKA the grumpy strappy mod via the LJ or DW message function when you app to prove you are a real human being, and not a spam bot, cabbage or other sentient.

Q: I did this and you didn't like me anyhow!
A: Ok, that's a statement, not a question, but I think I see what you did there. If you have a suelike LJ name involving lots of silent Xes or numbers, unless you go an extra mile to prove your existence you will be rejected
